Not the average creations from a street performer, these [large scale artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing) are full of wonderful details that essentially form inflated illustrations that many people, not just children, will appreciate. From a ferocious tiger lunging out below a tall tree to an ancient samurai soldier decked out in a striking suit of armor, the submissions for the 2014 World Balloon Convention are impressive. These works of art are worthy of being placed in gallery halls. If only they lasted longer than the average [inflated balloon](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chong-shop). Sadly, they are temporary sculptures that will live on only in images. It will be interesting to see what is shown at the next World Balloon Convention. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Intricate Balloon Sculptures:** Opportunity for innovative artists to create intricate and detailed sculptures using balloons as a medium. - **Temporary Art Installations:** Opportunity for event organizers to create unique and temporary art installations using balloons. - **Playful Inflated Illustrations:** Opportunity for illustrators to explore the use of inflated balloons as a medium to create whimsical and playful illustrations. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in the art and design industry include new techniques and materials for creating intricate sculptures and temporary art installations. - **Event Planning and Entertainment:** Innovative event planners can capitalize on the trend of balloon sculptures to create unique and memorable experiences for attendees. - **Illustration and Animation:** Opportunities for illustrators and animators to explore the use of balloons as a medium for creating playful and imaginative illustrations and animations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Colorfully Inflatable Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blowup-art-the-hague.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Artful Garden Inflatable Spheres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-is-air.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Giant Custom Inflatables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/giant-inflatables.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md) - [Inflated Design Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-as-a-main-material.md) - [Balloon-Like Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seungjin-yang.md)
