# DIY Sticky Seating The Workshop Chair from Jerszy Seymour Combines Cooking and Furniture By Michael Hines | Published 2010-07-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/workshop-chair References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/1-minute-chairs-wood-wax-craft-for-creative-amateurs/) & [jerszyseymour](http://www.jerszyseymour.com/) Cooking and furniture collide in the Workshop Chair from Jerszy Seymour. This chair is a perfect example of how a DIY spirit and some know-how can lead to a kickass creation. The Workshop Chair is made by dipping pieces of wood into hot wax and sticking them together. It is literally as simple as that. I wonder what else could be created with a little wax and a little imagination. The Workshop Chair might just be the beginning of Jerszy Seymour's furniture empire. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **DIY:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the potential of DIY approaches in various industries to create unique and personalized products. - **Sticky Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new seating solutions that utilize adhesive or sticky materials to create comfortable and versatile furniture. - **Cooking and Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine the concepts of cooking and furniture to create innovative designs that offer multi-functional and customizable features. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethink traditional furniture manufacturing methods and materials to create unconventional and interactive home furniture. - **Crafting Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new types of crafting supplies, such as wax-based materials, that can be used to create unique and customizable products. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate culinary elements and techniques into interior design concepts to create spaces that seamlessly blend cooking and living areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Fishing-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akos-huber.md) - [Sleek Steel Structural Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/combchair.md) - [Intricately Woven Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-designs.md) - [Waste-Incorporated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-chairs.md) - [Kitchen-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pole-collection.md) - [Simple Assembly Dining Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yugan.md) - [Flatpack Single-Piece Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaning-chair-set.md) - [Stackable Screw-Free Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-stack-chair.md)
