# Haunting Forest Photography This Woods Photo Series will Take You on a Trip Through the Forest By Farida Helmy | Published 2014-06-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woods-photo-series References: [inspirationhut.net](http://inspirationhut.net/inspiration/beautiful-triptych-photography-nature-jurgen-heckel/) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/sogar_heckel) Imagine walking through the woods at the split second that the sun sets and the warmth and rays melt into the ground leaving just a slither of light for you to see the wilderness surrounding you; this is what I feel the photographer was trying to emotionally portray to the audience when I look at this unique woods photo series. Applying the [triptych photography technique](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/still-life-1) to create this poignantly haunting series, photographer Jürgen Heckel does a beautiful job creating a whole story line using only his images in this woods photo series. Heckel does this by placing three images next to one another to create this [mystical and whimsical affect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch). What makes this series so moving is the choice of tones, colors and delicate textures that the photographer chose to capture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Nature Triptych Photography:** Capturing nature in a triptych format provides a unique storytelling aspect to photography. - **Emotive Landscape Photography:** Creating emotional connections through landscape photography and conveying a deeper meaning or story to the audience. - **Whimsical Nature Photography:** Using colors, textures, and tones to create a dreamy and mystical effect in nature photography. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fine Art Photography:** Exploring new techniques in photography can expand creative possibilities and evoke emotions in viewers. - **Cinematography:** Adopting the triptych format may lead to innovative in storytelling and evoke emotions in film-making. - **Interior Design:** Nature photography in a whimsical style can be integrated into interior design to spark a sense of awe and wonder in viewers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chalk Streams Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/british-conceptual-landscape-photographer.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md) - [Time-Layered Wood Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/age-of-wood.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Woodland Arts Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waterhouseoyama.md) - [Artful Elevated Timber Treehouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/secret-camp.md) - [Serene Wooden Dynamic Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleepy-wood.md)
