# Warped-Wooden Rooms The Bendy Wooden Room Illustrates Enhanced Wooden Architecture By Michael Nieto | Published 2013-11-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-rooms References: [gizmodo](http://gizmodo.com/bendy-wooden-room-snaps-together-like-tetris-takes-ove-1468556604) & [atmosstudio](http://www.atmosstudio.com/Roominaroom) This ‘Bendy Wooden Room’ showcases the possibility of creating [warped wooden rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-house1). The room was built by London-based architects from [Atmos Studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jaegerlecoultre-and-marc-newson) who are recognized from a previous award-winning project titled ‘Roominaroom.' This room was built on the top floor of an apartment building. It is extremely detailed with fine pieces of wood crafted and snapped together executing a warping effect. The curves built within the walls and floors seemingly arrange themselves into the platform. The architects used [computer-assisted carpentry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hybrid-flax-pavilion) to construct a 3D puzzle of wood. These pieces are designed to curve precisely along its interior. For those architects who need some bizarre-infused inspiration, warped-wooden rooms are now a possibility in contemporary architecture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Warped-wooden Architecture:** Architects can experiment with warped-wooden rooms and buildings to create unique and visually stunning designs. - **Computer-assisted Carpentry:** The use of computer technology for carpentry can result in more precise and complex designs for architects and woodworkers. - **Fine Woodworking:** Attention to detail in crafting fine pieces of wood can result in creating intricate designs like warped-wooden rooms and furnishings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects can utilize warped-wooden architecture to create one-of-a-kind buildings and spaces for clients. - **Woodworking:** Woodworkers can incorporate computer-assisted carpentry into their craft to create intricate and precise designs for furniture and structures. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can utilize fine woodworking techniques to create unique and artistic furnishings for their clients' spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Warped Acrylic Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awt-bar.md) - [Demountable Wooden Retail Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/present-correct1.md) - [Self-Shaping Wooden Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hygroshape.md) - [Redesigned Curved Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taichung-apartment.md) - [Hidden Garden Timber Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-room-around-a-tree.md) - [Bathroom-Centric Dubai Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bone-studio.md) - [Barn-Form Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-house1.md) - [Mushroom-Constructed Room Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mush-room.md) - [Eucalyptus Wood Curved Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/armadillo-pavilion.md)
