The latest creation he's made is a [replica of the original Macintosh from 1984](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c64-1), complete with a wooden monitor, keyboard and even a stylized portable mouse. The design is stunning, packed not with the brains of an old computer, but instead a [Mac Mini](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-mac-mini-concept) computer so that it can function with current technology abilities while appearing to be retro. Furthermore, what would have been a floppy disk drive in the past, is now an optical DVD drive. Named the 'Golden Apple,' the computer's wooden keyboard has gold-plated zinc keys that shine against the smooth surrounding walnut. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wooden Technology:** Opportunity for creating innovative designs by combining wood with modern technology. - **Retro Replicas:** Demand for recreating vintage electronics with modern functionalities. - **Customized Keyboards:** Potential for designing unique keyboards with unconventional materials and features. ### Who This Affects Most - **Technology Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to create unconventional accessories using wood and other materials. - **Electronics Manufacturing:** Opportunity to produce retro replica versions of popular electronic devices with modern capabilities. - **Artisan Design:** Emerging industry focused on blending craftsmanship with technology to create unique, handcrafted products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Victorian-Inspired USB Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-diviner-keyboard.md) - [Nostalgic Desktop Computer Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-computer-concept.md) - [Nostalgic 90s Keyboard Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/class-1800-mechanical-keyboard.md) - [Retro-Styled Pocket Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/macintosh-pocket.md) - [Compact Keyboard-Style Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mac-nano.md) - [Honeycomb-Inspired PC Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keyboard-and-mouse-design.md) - [Repurposed Vintage Apple Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repurposed-vintage-apple-computers.md) - [Retro-Style Mini Gamer PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ayaneo-retro-mini-pc-am01-1.md) - [Sustainable Hand-Crafted Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/working-synth.md)
