German designer Elisa Strozyk's latest project is her most audacious yet, as it involves the use [wooden fabrics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charity-hanger) to create completely unique-looking menswear. Storzyk teamed up with Icelandic menswear designer Sruli Recht to create two clothing items, a 'cropped militia jacket' and a 'loose sweater.' Both pieces of clothing are made by attaching walnut wood on a [wool base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knit-kite-jacket), creating a wood-textile blend that has a completely unique look and fit.

The wooden fabric clothing makes light of conventional clothing design wisdom that assumes that large materials -- like huge clumps of cotton or long sticks of bamboo -- need to be broken into very tiny pieces before they can be forged into clothing materials. The clothes created by Strozyk and Recht boldly embrace [large structural components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/programmable-clothing), as seen in their liberal use of large chunks of material.

The use of large wood-embossed chunks causes the clothes to wrinkly geometrically, creating a very different tactile experience for the wearer. The wooden surfaces reflect light, producing a look that is at once organic as well as digital.
