# Hexagonal Symbol Dominoes The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set is a Sophisticated Way to Play By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2015-11-11 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-domino References: [fubiz.net](http://www.fubiz.net/en/2015/11/10/wooden-domino-set-with-hexagonal-shapes/) & [etsy](https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/254905056/wooden-domino) At first glance, the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set looks like a traditional game, but it's only after closer inspection that you can see the distinct differences. Crafted from either maple and walnut wood or simply just walnut wood, the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set is outfitted with hexagonal etchings to represent the number rather than using actual digits. This post-modern approach makes the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set curious to explore and something of an explorative pastime to just figure out the figures. Handmade and available from [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scrabble-coffee-table) designer store Atelier-D from Montreal, the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set comes packed in a fabric bag embroidered with a leather label. The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set is beautifully crafted and worthy of even the most discerning players' attention. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/toys) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hexagonal Symbol Dominoes:** The use of hexagonal etchings instead of digits in the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set introduces a new symbol-based approach to traditional dominoes. - **Post-modern Game Design:** The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set's unique use of hexagonal etchings showcases a post-modern design aesthetic in traditional game design. - **Explorative Pastime:** The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set's curious design invites players to explore and figure out the figures, offering a new level of engagement in dominoes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Artisanal Home Goods:** The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set, with its handmade craftsmanship and attention to detail, fits within the growing market for artisanal home goods. - **Luxury Games and Toys:** With its sophisticated design and high-quality materials, the Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set caters to the luxury games and toys industry. - **Interior Design and Decor:** The Atelier-D Wooden Domino Set's unique and aesthetically pleasing design makes it an interesting addition to the interior design and decor industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Redefined Sculptural Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/another-kingdom.md) - [Luxury Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-board-game.md) - [Beautifully Artful Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-chess-set.md) - [Tactile Game Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bionic.md) - [Engaging 3D Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foros-game.md) - [Minimalist Monolithic Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-chess-set.md) - [Artful Wearable Chess Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ha-mat-set.md) - [Minimalist Artful Chessboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tarek-elkassouf.md) - [Artistic Board Game Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/monopoly-deluxe-edition.md)
