Shaped like a droplet and hung from a study stand, it is a chic alternative to what is currently on the market for those looking to introduce something a little different into their home. Dubbed the Calabash, the wooden cat bed is essentially a [flat-pack kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/batsy-cat-shelter) that is meant to be assembled at home. Easy and convenient, it requires no glue or tools to put together. Organic and contemporary, the wooden cat bed is something anyone would be proud to put on display. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with a cushion. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pet Furniture Design:** Innovation opportunity for creating aesthetically pleasing and customizable pet furniture designs. - **Flat-pack Assembly Kits:** Innovation opportunity for creating easy-to-assemble, tool-free flat-pack furniture kits. - **Organic and Contemporary Home Decor:** Innovation opportunity for creating organic, contemporary and chic home decor products for pet owners. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Furniture:** Opportunity for pet furniture manufacturers to expand their product line with new and trendy designs. - **E-commerce:** Opportunity for e-commerce websites specializing in home decor and pet products to add stylish and innovative pet furniture designs. - **Woodworking:** Opportunity for woodworking and furniture manufacturers to explore innovative, aesthetically pleasing designs for pets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Functional Furniture Cat Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donarturo-cuba-cat-house.md) - [Timber Sun-Inspired Pet Perches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myzoo-solar.md) - [Origami-Like Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/felt-cat-bed.md) - [Playful Muffin-Inspired Cat Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pets-pods.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cat-Furniture-1.md) - [Stylish Stimulating Cat Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catit.md) - [Flatpack Feline Entertainment Towers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/float-cat-tree.md) - [Modern House Pet Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/choo-choo-console.md) - [Minimalist Pet Decor Products](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-pet-furniture-collection.md)
