# Gradient Cabinet Designs This Wooden Cabinet Has a Textured Look That Makes It Stand Out in a Room By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-08-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-cabinet References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/cabinet-gradient-layered-shingles/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/PakawatVCKK) The gradient colors of this wooden cabinet are only emphasized by its [textured exterior design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-collections). The 'Alato Cabinet' was created in a collaboration between the two Thai university students Jumphol Socharoentham and Pakaway Vijaykadga. The piece is simultaneously functional and stylish as it has several layers of shelving and also works as a decoration in the home. The wooden cabinet has a [gradient color scheme](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bang-olufsen-beosound-21) that starts out in a cream tone and ends in a deep navy shade. The shingled exterior works to emphasize this color scheme while adding a unique texture to what would otherwise be a very classic piece of home decor. This cabinet was created by merging opposite aesthetics in a way that is seldom seen with traditional home decor. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Gradient Color Scheme:** The use of gradient colors in design creates visually striking and dynamic products. - **Textured Exterior Design:** Incorporating textured exteriors adds a distinctive touch to furniture and home decor. - **Functional and Stylish Furniture:** Designing furniture that is both practical and visually appealing enhances the overall aesthetic of a space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can leverage gradient color schemes to create unique and visually captivating spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Incorporating textured exterior designs into furniture manufacturing can differentiate products and attract customers. - **Home Decor Retail:** Offering functional and stylish furniture options gives home decor retailers a competitive edge in the market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Japanese-Inspired Cabinet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veil-cabinets.md) - [Artisanal Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artisanal-textile-divider.md) - [Volcanic Rock-Inspired Cabinet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuff-pencil-cabinet.md) - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Modern Tonal Cabinet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curved-cabinetry-collection.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Thoughtful Wheeling Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet-on-wheels.md)
