The crossbow is specially formatted to launch marshmallows from a hollowed out cylindric track at great speeds as a novelty item for outdoor enthusiasts. While most crossbows tend to shoot arrows, the MMX Marshmallow Crossbow replaces ammunition with edible snacks. The bow features a wooden [Douglas Fir](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knotty-pine-cabins) channel called the 'mallow-chute' that propels [regular sized marshmallows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hearts-marshmallows) at the press of a button. The button releases a trigger that ignites the marshmallow down the channel at high speeds. The crossbow provides a great practice device for those wishing to learn more about a crossbow, without beginning with the real device. The MMX Marshmallow Crossbow offers a safer alternative to start with. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Edible Ammunition:** Opportunity for innovation in creating new edible projectiles for various weapons systems. - **Alternative Training Devices:** Potential to develop creative and safe training tools for various weapons and sports. - **Novelty Outdoor Accessories:** Scope for designing unique and entertaining accessories for outdoor enthusiasts. ### Where This Applies - **Food Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation possibilities in developing and producing edible ammunition for weapons systems. - **Sports Equipment:** Opportunity to create alternative training devices for various sports and recreational activities. - **Outdoor Retail:** Potential for offering novelty accessories to enhance the outdoor experience for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minty Marshmallow Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peppermint-mallow-poppers.md) - [Fizzing Sour Marshmallow Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juicy-drop-mallows.md) - [Creamy Candy Marshmallow Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swizzels-marvellous-mallows-drumstick.md) - [Festive Decorated Marshmallows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/williams-sonoma.md) - [Marshmallow Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xo-marshmallow-advent-calendar.md) - [Freeze-Dried Marshmallow Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marshmallow-crunch.md) - [Scandinavian S'mores Roasters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chefn-sweet-spot-smores-maker.md) - [Airy Easter Chocolate Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xo-marshmallow-easter-eggs.md) - [Decorative Holiday Marshmallows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-marshmallow.md)
