The Fairhaven Beach House is made up of several zinc-clad volumes in a U-formation that faces the ocean. Walking through the homes twisting, timber-lined interior is an intriguing sojourn. The architects describe it as "a dynamic, fluid journey through the house from arrival to the ocean view." The interior also features a [cantilevered study](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin), an open-concept living area and kitchen that leads out to a [secluded balcony](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tidal-house), perfect for outdoor dining. A wine cellar, secondary living area and garage are located in the basement. The use of zinc on the exterior volumes allows the house to blend with its natural surroundings. However, the wooden interior provides a warm and cozy feel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 56% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Sustainable Architecture:** There is a growing demand for eco-friendly construction materials and designs, offering opportunities for businesses that prioritize sustainability. - **Luxury Eco-tourism:** With the rising concerns for the environment, there is a trend in the luxury travel industry for eco-friendly and natural experiences. - **Modular Construction:** Modular design can offer a faster and more efficient solution to building, as well as use of eco-friendly materials to reduce carbon footprint. ### Who This Affects Most - **Construction:** The construction industry can take advantage of using environmentally friendly building materials like timber and zinc, and also offer modular design for faster and more efficient building. - **Hospitality:** There is an opportunity for eco-friendly luxury in the hospitality and tourism industry, offering natural and sustainable accommodations, such as timber-lined residences. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers can incorporate sustainable designs and eco-friendly materials into their projects, offering environmentally conscious options to consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Relaxing Wooden Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heatherhill-beach-house.md) - [Coastal Timber Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornwall-retreat.md) - [Coastal Timber Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project.md) - [Warm Timber Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lookout.md) - [Elevated Timber-Clad Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victory-bay-house.md) - [Beach Shack-Inspired Wooden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bangalow-road-house.md) - [Bushfire-Resistant Contemporary Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ironbark-house.md) - [Coastal Forest Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openspace-architecture.md) - [Rammed Earth Coastal Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peninsula-house.md)
