Taxidermy is popular among hunters, but if you don’t feel like displaying a dead animal on your wall then this is the perfect decor for you. This collection called ‘Hand Carved Game Trophies’ is from Restoration Hardware. The pieces are hand-crafted with precision and are meticulously detailed, thus looking almost life-like. [Solid basswood was hand carved](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1) to create the moose, antelope, deer and elk heads in the collection. They are then finished in a custom, soft gray wash to highlight their [intricate woodwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodcarving-heritage). They may seem bulky, but they are easy to ship and store because the animals’ antlers are removable. Not to mention, you don’t have to take these animals to a taxidermist to get mounted properly; they come with a simple keyhole mount drilled in the back. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Wood Taxidermy Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating alternative decor options for individuals who appreciate taxidermy aesthetics without using actual animal remains. - **Hand Carved Game Trophies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing and producing high-quality, artisanal wood carvings as unique wall decor. - **Removable Antlers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing innovative mounting systems that allow for easy assembly and disassembly of decor pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing sustainable and animal-friendly alternatives to traditional taxidermy decor in the home furnishing industry. - **Artisanal Crafts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revitalizing the art of wood carving and expanding its application in the craft industry. - **Shipping and Storage:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating packaging and logistics solutions that optimize the delivery and storage of large and delicate decor items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wilderness-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitat-collection.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Handmade Wooden Home Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handmade-wooden-home-accessories.md) - [Mixed Material Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/resin-dragon-egg-ornament.md) - [Human Embraced-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallmounted-sculpture.md) - [Wooden Aromatherapy Decorations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solid-wood-aromatherapy-ornaments.md) - [Mountain Atelope-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jomo-tariku.md) - [Timber Desktop Technology Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-headphone-stands.md) - [Shooting Target Wall Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clockwerk-target-clocks.md)
