# Diamond Ring-Inspired Tables These Iron and Wood Tables Take Inspiration from Jewelry By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-01-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-table References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/01/20/table-with-a-diamond-cut/) & [marioalessiani](http://marioalessiani.com/) Average products are being given a backstory to help increase the appeal associated with them like these iron and wood tables that are inspired by the aesthetic of diamond rings. Designed and created by Mario Alessiani, the tables are entirely handmade in Italy and see the wooden tabletops transformed into gemstones with the iron base being the setting. With a couple different designs to choose from, the wood tablets by Alessiani are aesthetically quite minimal yet add an additional dimension to spaces thanks to the clever inspiration behind them. The tables give a backstory to what might otherwise be a background piece of furniture to make them centerpieces in modern living spaces that require texture and beauty. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Story-driven Products:** Designing products with a compelling backstory can increase their appeal and make them stand out. - **Minimal Aesthetic:** Minimalistic designs are gaining popularity for their clean and sleek appearance. - **Transformative Furniture:** Furniture that can be transformed or incorporates unique elements adds an extra level of functionality and visual interest. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can explore creating products with unique design inspirations to cater to the growing demand for aesthetically pleasing and functional furniture. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate story-driven products and minimalist designs to create visually striking and modern living spaces. - **Artisan Craftsmanship:** The artisan craftsmanship industry can showcase their skills in turning ordinary materials into visually appealing and unique pieces of furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Italian Material-Highlighting Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ria-coffee.md) - [Modern Customizable Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customizable-table-design.md) - [Optically-Designed Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigma-coffee-tables.md) - [Crystalline Gem-Like Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soda-coffee-tables.md) - [Raw Stone-Inspired Jagged Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fels-coffee-table.md) - [Colorful Contemporary Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/runda-tables.md) - [Raw Cast-Bronze Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corca-side-table.md) - [Chic Sustainable Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oceanides-table-collection.md)
