The curiosity and fear surrounding what's inside a woman's purse is aptly covered in the 2003 film 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.' Ben, the main character, along with his male co-works find his love interest's handbag and they feverishly contemplate its contents while wondering how they can get a peek inside. 'What's Inside my Bag' [YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pouch-purse) videos and social media posts have become oddly common, which is proof of the interest people seem to have in the contents of [women's purses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stan-onigiri-purse). Photographer Sergey Stroitelev explored the mystery of [female handbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artycapucines-vii) himself in Russia. His work on VICE shows images of women he met, with a description of who they are, along with a photo of the full contents inside their bags. It's interesting to see the similarities and differences of what each bag contains. The age and job of each woman had a visible connection to what she carried around. The images tell viewers a lot about who they are and what brands they like. It's information that would really allow companies to tailor products to women of different age groups and professions. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Exploratory Handbag Photography:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Utilizing handbag photography to gain insights into consumer preferences and tailor products accordingly. - **What's Inside My Bag Videos:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating customized products based on the contents of women's purses, as showcased in the popular 'What's Inside My Bag' videos. - **Personalized Product Tailoring:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing personalized product lines that cater to different age groups and professions based on the insights gained from handbag contents analyses. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fashion:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionizing the fashion industry by using handbag photography to better understand consumer preferences and create tailored designs. - **Consumer Goods:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Leveraging insights from handbag contents to design and market consumer goods that align with different target demographics. - **Market Research:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Transforming market research by utilizing handbag photography as a source of consumer insights to inform strategic decision-making and product development. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Structural Transparent Bag Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/maria-olhovnikova.md) - [Technologically Enhanced Electronic Handbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electronic-handbags.md) - [Sleek Audio Bag Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speaker-bag-and-mixer-bag.md) - [Actress-Backed Handbag Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/galleria-handbag.md) - [Bespoke Bakery-Inspired Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-bag.md) - [Versatile Warped Handbags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mschf-3.md) - [Ancient Geometric Pattern Purses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinite-convertible-bag.md) - [Microscopic Handbag Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microscopic-handbag.md) - [Interactive Bag Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bag-capacity-widget.md)
