# Glowing Geodesic Lights The Witch Moth Lamp is a Sharp Tectonic Fixture for Futuristic Interiors By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-01-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/witch-moth-lamp References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/WITCH-MOTH-Lamp/2039627) The old base, bulb and shade configuration has been abandoned here in favor of a flashy avant-garde design for a table lamp. The Witch Moth Lamp looks more like a [contemporary sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape-lamp) -- if not a mathematical model -- than it does a recognizable light fixture. But this is what makes it so striking. Grzegorz Rozwadowski's concept may remind you of a scaled-down version of Fuller's geodesic dome. However, the trussed structure has been trimmed and three corners extruded, creating a [tight latticed shell](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-drape-light) on top and open space beneath. LED lights line the inside of the [intricate black girders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape), casting a neon glow of violet, cyan or yellow. Witch Moth Lamp's illumination is indirect and diffuse, reflecting off of the surface of the coffee table or the wall. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Geometric Lighting:** Designing lighting fixtures that incorporate geometric shapes and intricate patterns using innovative materials and lighting technology. - **Sculptural Lamps:** Creating lamps that double as works of art with unique shapes, structures, and materials. - **Indirect Lighting:** Using reflective surfaces and innovative lighting techniques to create a diffused and ambient glow in interior design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting fixtures and techniques can be used to create unique and visually striking interior design concepts. - **Art and Sculpture:** Blurring the lines between traditional lighting fixtures and sculptures can result in highly desirable design pieces for art collectors and enthusiasts. - **Architecture:** The use of innovative lighting technology and geometric shapes in lighting fixtures can create a unique architectural statement within a space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stunning Mushroom-Shaped Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mushroomshaped-table-lamp.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Stealthy Pendant Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp.md) - [Geometric Industrial Desktop Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-lamp.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Sleek Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunar-lamp-concept.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [3D-Printed Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbyt.md) - [Sculptural Glass Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa.md)
