# Minimalist Steel Strand Furniture The Wire Side Table by Iacoli & Mcallister is Clean and Modern By Meghan Young | Published 2013-06-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-side-table References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/wire-side-table-by-iacoli-mcallister/) & [shop.iacolimcallister](http://shop.iacolimcallister.com/product/wire-side-table-powder-coat) The [Wire Side Table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/montana-furniture) is a visually striking piece of furniture that relies heavily on [minimalism and geometry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solis-collection). Made out of powder coated stainless steel, it features a wireframe that is more decorative than practical, although that doesn't mean the latter is neglected. In fact, the wire allows people to use the surface of the table in various ways. Designed by Jamie Iacoli & Brian McAllister of Seattle-based Iacoli & McAllister, the Wire Side Table may appear to revolve around an optical illusion, but it is more straightforward than it first seems. The Wire Side Table is available in various colors including pink, tomato, white, black, mint, aqua as well as different metals like brass and copper. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Furniture Designs:** Designing furniture with minimalist features and geometry can create visually striking pieces that prioritize practicality. - **Use of Powder-coated Stainless Steel in Designer Furniture:** The use of powder-coated stainless steel in designer furniture creates a sleek and modern look that is also durable and practical. - **Decorative Wireframe Designs in Furniture:** Incorporating decorative wireframe designs in furniture can create unique designs that also serve practical purposes. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturing companies can explore novel geometries and material combinations to create unique pieces that are not only visually attractive but also practical. - **Home Decor and Design:** Home decor and design companies can showcase innovative and creative designs to attract new customers who value practicality and aesthetics. - **Interior Design:** Interior design companies can use minimalist and modern designs to create a well-organized and attractive space that is also highly functional. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Impactful Industrial Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/to-steel-side-table.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Slender Geometric Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table.md) - [Dynamic Structural Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wims.md) - [Expertly Woven Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicker-side-table.md) - [Geometric Glass Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soda-iced-table.md) - [Industrial Strength Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intra-side-table.md) - [Sleek Metallic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scissor-side-table.md)
