# Wire Coffee Tables This Table Creates an Interaction Between Passive and Active Objects By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-07-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-coffee-table References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2016/07/08/george-riding-graduate-northumbria-university-wire-series-coffee-table-black-metal-new-designers-2016/) & [georgeriding.info](http://www.georgeriding.info/) This wire coffee table was built to create a relationship between the "passive table and active objects." Designed by George Riding, the table is accompanied by a number of accessories that have various functions. The table itself is made up of a [wire frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-side-table) and half of it has horizontal lines, while the other half has vertical lines and a [square indentation to hold objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table). The table comes with a "black wooden board, plate, marble block and brass vase" -- all of which come with grooves that allow the objects to be slotted into the table. By enhancing the coffee table, this designer not only creates an artistic home staple but one that integrates function in a unique way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Interactive Tables:** The use of tables and accompanying accessories to promote interaction between passive and active objects has potential for further innovation - **Wire-frame Furniture:** Designing furniture with wire frames provides a unique aesthetic and may offer new avenues for creativity - **Functional Home Decor:** Blending decor and function in household items can provide unique, innovative solutions ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore wire-frame designs to create unique products that integrate function and style - **Home Decor:** Incorporating functionality into home decor can attract consumers who want practicality in their decorative items - **Design:** Designers can experiment with interactive furniture to create new, dynamic spaces that promote engagement ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Strong Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharp-table.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Bent Steel Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creu-coffee-table.md) - [Industrial All-Metal Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockwerk-coffee-table.md) - [Dynamic Interaction Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmasurface.md) - [Dynamic Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ryb-coffee-table.md) - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md)
