# Wispy Wire Chairs This Chair Features Geometric Patterns to Reconstruct a Conventional Design By Gurveer Brah | Published 2015-09-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/furnishings/shelltwo-chair/) & [viewportstudio](http://viewportstudio.co.uk/) This wire chair uses geometrical patterns to create a wonderfully simple piece of furniture. With its simplistic charm and colorful sensibilities, a piece like this fits into any variation of modernistic decor. The 'Shelltwo Chair' was designed by 'VW+BS.' The UK-based designers created the chair in an effort to deconstruct a [conventional shell chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/press-chair). With its shell design as the basis for the shape of the furniture piece, the designers used [geometric patterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sitter-chair) for a symmetrical design on the wire lining on the seating and back. The chair uses multiple [wire rods made of painted aluminum](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stamping-chair) for this intricate design. This wire chair is capable of being a focal point in decor -- it can also be used outside to spruce up a patio or backyard setting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Geometric Furniture:** Opportunity to experiment with unconventional patterns and shapes, creating an eye-catching and unique look. - **Wire Furniture:** Using wire instead of traditional materials like wood or plastic can lead to lighter, more portable and durable products. - **Outdoor Furniture Makeover:** Designing outdoor furniture with the same level of creativity and detail as indoor furniture for a more cohesive decor experience. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating unconventional materials and patterns can lead to a new wave of creative and standout pieces in the furniture market. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Creating unique and visually appealing outdoor furniture can contribute to an elevated experience of outdoor recreation and leisure activities. - **Home Decor:** Offering new and innovative furniture pieces can attract customers looking to create a distinct and stylish home decor aesthetic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Seashell-Inspired Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-and-digital-techniques.md) - [Ultra-Precise Woven Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-design.md) - [Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shepherd-studio.md) - [Ergonomic Butterfly-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wings-chair.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Playful Recycled Aluminum Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuba-chair.md)
