The university says the system goes beyond commercialization and actually "exceeds the efficiency of most [corded chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/al-charger)." They said the system can achieve a 68% efficiency, but they are confident that number will reach 80%. In a few more months they plan to demonstrate proof that they cxan charge a laptop computer solely through wireless power. **Implications** - This would be an ideal solution for citizens who travel a lot and are not in the vicinity of a power outlet, or for students who use their devices in classrooms. This innovative idea is sure to improve the lives of many. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 45% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Wireless Power Technology:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the development of more efficient and convenient wireless charging solutions. - **Mobile Power Solutions:** Disruptive innovation potential in providing portable power solutions for travelers and users on the go. - **Wireless Charging in Education:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in implementing wireless charging technology in educational settings and classrooms for increased convenience and flexibility. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Technology:** Potential for disruptive innovation in the technology industry by creating more efficient wireless power solutions. - **Travel and Hospitality:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the travel and hospitality industry by providing portable wireless charging solutions for travelers. - **Education:** Disruptive innovation potential in the education industry by implementing wireless charging technology in classrooms and educational settings. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Future-Facing Charging Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-charger-concepts.md) - [Wireless Charging Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freepower.md) - [Automatic EV Charging Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/witricity.md) - [Wireless Power Infrastructure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-power1.md) - [Origami-Style Charger Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicharge-folding-wireless-charger.md) - [Efficient Wireless Charging Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wireless-charging-accessories.md) - [Kitchen Counter Wireless Charging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freepower-1.md) - [Golf Car Charging Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-golf-car.md) - [Wireless Automotive Charging Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-pointech.md)
