# Winter Wonderland Photography Lou Reed Trades in His Guitar for a Camera By Ryan Hinkson | Published 2009-12-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/winter-wonderland-photography References: [superfuture](http://www.superfuture.com/supernews/?p=25843) & [slamxhype](http://slamxhype.com/art-design/lou-reed-“romanticism”-exhibition/) Most know Lou Reed as the rocking founder of the legendary Velvet Underground, so I was very surprised to discover that he is also a very talented photographer. In his book and upcoming exhibit of the same name ‘Romanticism,’ images of a Winter Wonderland are conjured up. The focus here is on peaceful landscapes and architecture and it is done beautifully. I am consummate fan of the sun and warm weather, but Lou Reed manages to make winter look wonderful through his photography. I guess even though he has traded in his guitar for a camera, Lou Reed still rocks. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Winter Photography:** The trend of capturing peaceful winter landscapes and architecture in photography. - **Multidisciplinary Creatives:** The trend of artists exploring and experimenting with multiple creative disciplines beyond their primary skillset. - **Art Exhibitions:** The trend of showcasing a variety of art forms and mediums in a single exhibition. ### Who This Affects Most - **Photography:** Opportunities for disruption in the photography industry by exploring the beauty of winter landscapes. - **Music:** Opportunities for disruption in the music industry by encouraging musicians to explore other creative disciplines and showcase their work. - **Art Galleries:** Opportunities for disruption in the art gallery industry by showcasing exhibitions that incorporate a variety of art forms and mediums. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Blurry Abstract Photography Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-allusion.md) - [Skateboard-Themed Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rabbit-hole-1.md) - [Interactive Colorful Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/david-hockney-bigger-closer.md) - [Rockstar-Inspired Instant Film Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/for-the-rebel-rebels.md) - [Travel Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-within-the-detour.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [British Youth-Culture Photography Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-and-away.md) - [Britpop Photography Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oasis-photography-exhibition.md)
