Studio Roosegarge has put together a spectacularly beautiful project, dubbed Windlicht, that uses green LED beams to link the blades of wind turbines.

The project uses special software that blends data from sensors and cameras using LED aiming and stabilization technology, ensuring that beams remain targeted on blades as they rotate. The end result is the appearance of gorgeous green beams that act as skipping ropes being spun around by the turbines.

In addition to looking beautiful, the Windlicht project aims to tackle a central problem -- that everybody says that they want more green energy but few are willing to put up with the infrastructure sitting in their backyard. The installation proves that it is indeed possible to beautify energy infrastructure projects so that they do not become eyesores.
