# House-Like Lodgings The Wiesergut Hotel is at Once Luxurious and Homey By Meghan Young | Published 2013-02-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wiesergut-hotel References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2013/02/12/wiesergut-hotel-by-gogl-partners-architekten/) & [gogl-architekten.at](http://www.gogl-architekten.at/) From the outside, the Wiesergut Hotel could be someone's winter home. The one storey design, familiar look and unassuming atmosphere all point to an inviting space, much like that of a cozy private residence. Of course, being low to the ground allows people to better appreciate the [view of the surrounding mountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cadree-perche), which the floor-to-ceiling windows also help with. As for the familiar and unassuming aesthetic of the Wiesergut Hotel, that goes hand-in-hand with a snowy escape. Inside is a completely different matter. The Wiesergut Hotel is open and airy with a [minimalist interior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auto-cabin) that gives is a modern appeal. Like any other ritzy hotel, it provides top-of-the-line amenities. Nevertheless, the [stone walls and wood accents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-cabin) are clearly inspired by classic cottages. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **House-inspired Hotels:** Hotels are taking inspiration from private residences to create inviting, cozy and familiar spaces for guests. - **Minimalist Interiors:** Hotels are adopting a modern and minimalist interior design to provide a more open and airy space for guests. - **Floor-to-ceiling Windows:** Hotels are using floor-to-ceiling windows to provide guests with breathtaking views and a closer connection to nature. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Hospitality Industry:** Hotels can use inspiration from private residences and minimalist interior designs to create unique and inviting spaces for guests. - **Architecture Industry:** Architects can incorporate floor-to-ceiling windows in building designs to provide better views and a closer connection to nature. - **Furniture Industry:** Furniture manufacturers can focus on creating minimalist and modern designs to complement the trend of hotel designs adopting a minimalist interior. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Rooted Family Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-am-lagnesberg.md) - [Mountain Courtyard Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ski-house.md) - [Mountainous Holiday Ski Resorts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/not-a-hotel-rusutsu.md) - [Natural Comfort Chalets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chalet-cocagne.md) - [Modern Mountain Lodges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/usm.md) - [Earthy Inviting Hotel Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mollie-aspen.md) - [Tranquil Secluded Retreat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-brecon.md) - [Sustainable Swiss Chalets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ls-design.md) - [Contemporary Ski Home Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traditional-ski-chalet.md)
