This [dehydrated food for adult dogs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dehydrated-dog-food) is easily prepared by adding water, and best served as a [meal topper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airdried-toppers), a mix-in or a complete meal replacement. Dr. Sarah Dodd, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist and a leader in plant-based pet food formulations, developed the product and explained, “Most commercial toppers are formulated to provide only up to 10% of a dog’s total calories. If you add more than the recommended allowance, it could lead to nutritional imbalance. We’ve created something entirely different—a product that maintains complete nutritional integrity regardless of how much you use.” This whole food formula is packed with nutrient-dense, antioxidant-packed ingredients, from freeze-dried leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables to coconut-peanut broth and complete proteins. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 88% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 43% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Plant-based Pet Nutrition:** The growing demand for plant-based diets is now extending to pet nutrition, offering sustainable and health-forward meal options for pets. - **Customizable Pet Meals:** Pet food customization with adjustability in nutritional intake is gaining traction, allowing pet owners to fine-tune meals for their pets' specific dietary needs. - **Dehydrated Pet Food Solutions:** Dehydrated pet food presents a convenient, shelf-stable, and nutrient-rich alternative to traditional wet or dry meals, catering to the needs of modern pet owners. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Food Manufacturing:** Innovations in pet food manufacturing are leaning towards cleaner labels and plant-based formulations, reshaping the traditional pet food industry landscape. - **Sustainable Agriculture:** Sustainable agricultural practices are becoming critical as the demand for plant-based ingredients in pet food rises, affecting how raw materials are sourced and produced. - **Veterinary Nutrition:** The veterinary nutrition industry is being revolutionized by the incorporation of plant-based nutrients into pet food formulations, altering how nutritional advice is provided. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human-Grade Meal Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-sauce.md) - [Minimally Processed Meal Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sprankles-for-pets.md) - [Hybrid Dog Food Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rawmix50.md) - [Whole Food Multivitamin Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whole-food-multivitamin-topper.md) - [Bakery-Inspired Food Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whats-barkings-shakers-food-toppers.md) - [Cellular-Based Meal Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meat-broth-topper-for-dogs.md) - [Plant-Based Dog Treat Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-treat-mix.md) - [Kombucha-Inspired Meal Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meal-topper.md) - [Raw Pet Food Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freeze-dried-raw-topper.md)
