# Whiteboard Desk Tops Evodesk's Whiteboard DeskShield Lets Creatives Brainstorm Without Getting Up By Joey Haar | Published 2017-05-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-deskshield References: [evodesk](http://www.evodesk.com/deskshields) Creatives and visually driven people need ample space to sketch out their ideas, and sometimes their desk tops just aren't enough on their own -- so Evodesk's [Whiteboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-owl) DeskShield has turned the desk itself into a space for sketching, ideating, and brainstorming. The Whiteboard DeskShield is exactly what its name implies: a whiteboard covering over one's desk, giving creatives loads more space to record whatever strikes them. Just like a whiteboard up on the wall, Evodesk's Whiteboard DeskShield is fully erasable when one draws on it with a dry erase marker (Evodesk recommends using [Avery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-storage) or [Expo](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expo-cultural-park-greenhouse) brand markers for the best results.) Further, the desk top serves as a durable protective layer that keeps desks safe from abrasion, chemicals, UV exposure, and the general daily chaos of a creative person's work life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Whiteboard Deskshield:** Opportunity for a disruptive innovation in the office furniture industry by incorporating whiteboard functionality into desk surfaces. - **Increased Workspace for Creatives:** Opportunity to address the need for more space for sketching and brainstorming among creatives through innovative desk designs. - **Durable Protective Desk Covers:** Opportunity to create protective desk covers that offer durability and resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and UV exposure. ### Who This Affects Most - **Office Furniture:** Opportunity for the office furniture industry to develop and market desks with whiteboard functionality. - **Stationery and Office Supplies:** Opportunity to create and sell dry erase markers specifically designed for use on desk surfaces. - **Creative Services:** Opportunity for creative agencies and studios to offer collaborative workspaces equipped with whiteboard desk covers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angled Workstation Whiteboard Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluidstance-slope.md) - [Multifunctional Projection Mobile Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atmus-mobile-desk.md) - [OLED Screen-Equipped Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumina-desk.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [Hyper-Customizable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hypercustomizable-desk.md) - [Personal Portable Whiteboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-whiteboard-1.md) - [Digital Productivity Desk Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desk-accessory-concept.md) - [Ergonomic Whiteboard Laptop Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lift-laptop-riser-and-whiteboard.md) - [Multifunctional Standing Work Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boundary-desk-1.md)
