This year, [White Ribbon's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-friend-max-hate) 'Walk a Mile in Her Shoes' initiative is going virtual, with the event running from September 26th until October 2nd. Described as "[a walk to end gender-based violence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walk-for-alzheimers), racism, and all forms of discrimination," Walk a Mile in Her Shoes aims to raise funds in support of White Ribbon, a global movement that calls upon men and boys to take a stand.

Those wishing to participate in the walk can do so by walking one mile in the heels of their choice, or otherwise raising awareness through [t-shirts, signs, and other statements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kids-help-phone). While they're able to participate anywhere that they choose, they can show their solidarity online by using the #WhiteRibbonWalk hashtag. On October 2nd, all teams and sponsors will have a chance to come together and celebrate virtually. Registration is open on WalkAMileToronto.ca, where donations are also accepted.

This year, White Ribbon seeks to reach a goal of $235,000.
