The keywords here are simple, clean and modern. The two-level White House is perhaps a polar opposite from the ornate capitol of the same name in the states. The bottom floor of Jarmund/Vigsnaes’ design is concrete, with the top floor constructed with [oak](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oak-house-1). The design is a compilation of wood panels, glass and concrete. The home is in a [suburban area in Norway](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chr-tomters-veg), near the Oslo fjord. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Architecture:** Architects and builders can take advantage of the popularity of minimalistic designs in home and building construction. - **Use of Sustainable Materials:** The use of sustainable materials such as wood panels in home and building construction presents opportunities for construction firms and suppliers. - **Integration of Glass in Construction:** The popularity of glass in modern buildings and homes creates opportunities for glass suppliers and contractors for fitting glazing in their designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Architecture:** Architects can harness the popularity of minimalist designs and the use of sustainable materials to create new designs. - **Construction:** Construction firms can specialize in building custom homes or commercial buildings utilizing the integration of glass in their designs. - **Sustainable Materials:** Suppliers of sustainable materials such as wood panels and laminates can take advantage of the growing trend of minimalist and modern designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Arctic Floating Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-vipp-guesthouse.md) - [Log Cabin-Inspired Minimal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/restua.md) - [Panoramic Scenic Dreamy Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-in-sozopol.md) - [Architectural Tranquil Cabin Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolder-londges.md) - [White Fabric-Style Facade Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nyori.md) - [Contemporary Countryside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-countryside-home.md) - [Vibrantly Colored Retro Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yellow-house.md) - [All-White Ontario Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bldg-workshop.md)
