Built on the iconic [BMW](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dirk-oehlerking) R1150GS, this custom bike is purpose-built for adventure and features a minimal, lightweight and classic design. But unlike its base, the Whitcraft Services 001 features some modern upgrades: namely, a custom-built electrical system. The modern electronics allow the removal of many of the analog systems on the bike, replacing them all with an interface that works off a smartphone. Other upgrades implemented onto the Whitcraft Services 001 include a Truck-lite LED headlight, a [BAAK](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baak-1200-aventures-motorcycle) Cycles LED tail light, a new suspension with custom springs, a reduced slim profile 5-gallon fuel tank, a new suspension, a heavy saddle leather seat and a lightweight luggage rack with recycled military waxed luggage bags. Many of these upgrades were done to compensate for the lighter nature of the bike but also work beautifully to create a performance vehicle. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Minimal Lightweight Design:** The trend of designing motorcycles with minimal and lightweight features opens up opportunities for increased performance and functionality. - **Custom-built Electrical Systems:** The trend of incorporating custom-built electrical systems in motorcycles enables the integration of advanced technologies and improved user interfaces. - **Upgraded Lighting and Suspension:** The trend of upgrading lighting and suspension systems in motorcycles enhances safety, visibility, and overall performance. ### Who This Affects Most - **Custom Motorcycle Shops:** Custom motorcycle shops can benefit from the trend of minimal lightweight design and custom-built electrical systems to attract adventure-seeking bikers. - **Electronics and Technology:** The electronics and technology industry can explore opportunities to collaborate with motorcycle manufacturers in developing advanced electrical systems and smartphone interfaces. - **Lighting and Suspension Manufacturers:** Lighting and suspension manufacturers can capitalize on the trend of upgrading lighting and suspension systems in motorcycles to provide innovative solutions that enhance performance and safety. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Steampunk-Inspired Motorcycle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dirk-oehlerking.md) - [Redesigned Electric Race Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/64-street-spec-caf-racer.md) - [Art Deco-Inspired Motorbikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bmw-c400x.md) - [Aircraft-Inspired Motorcycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fabman-creations.md) - [Custom Aluminum Motorcycles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ducati-821.md) - [Custom Component Motorcycle Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vagabund-rxv-triumph-bobber.md) - [Aftermarket Motorcycle Conversion Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bmw-electric-conversion-kit.md) - [Angularly Accented Motorcycle Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baak-1200-aventures-motorcycle.md) - [Modernized Retro Motorcycle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vagabund-yamaha-tnre.md)
