# Congenial Whiskey Cabinets The Harper Cabinet is Modeled to Resemble a Personal Butler By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-11-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiskey-cabinet References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/whisky-cabinet-by-thomas-schneider/) & [whiskycabinet.tumblr](http://whiskycabinet.tumblr.com/) Cabinetmaker Thomas Schneider designed 'The Harper,' a [whiskey cabinet](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-for-a-collector) that's intended to resemble the form and stance of a butler handing you a drink. Now, most of us aren't posh enough to have our own butler waiting on us hand and foot. This is a tragic reality, yes, but the Harper cabinet is the next best thing to having your own staff. Schneider explains that, though [cabinetmaking](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veil-cabinets) is often seen as an "antiquated discipline," there is room to create a contemporary design with traditional techniques. The finished product has an old-world sophistication mixed with a modern feel. So, dry your tears, [pour a glass of whiskey](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whisky-designs) into your goblet and thank your "personal butler" for always being there for you. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 21% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Personalized Furniture:** The Harper cabinet taps into the trend of personalized furniture by creating a piece that resembles a personal butler. - **Mixing Old and New:** The design of The Harper cabinet combines traditional cabinetmaking techniques with a modern aesthetic, reflecting the trend of blending the old and new. - **Luxury Home Decor:** The Harper cabinet caters to the trend of luxury home decor, offering a sophisticated and stylish piece for whiskey enthusiasts. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The personalized and luxurious nature of The Harper cabinet aligns with the interior design industry, creating opportunities for high-end custom furniture. - **Hospitality:** The concept of a whiskey cabinet resembling a butler can be integrated into the hospitality industry, providing a unique and memorable experience for guests. - **Craftsmanship:** The traditional cabinetmaking techniques used in The Harper cabinet can inspire innovations in the craftsmanship industry, combining old-world knowledge with modern design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Cannabis Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alter-interiors.md) - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Customizable Wine Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elegant-wine-cabinet.md) - [Tropical Island-Inspired Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weaver-cabinet.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Contemporary Stereo Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-record-bureau.md) - [Cabinet Drawer Wine Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dometic-drawbar.md) - [Stylish Oakwood Storage Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moose-cabinet.md)
