Creator Brian Nguyen recognized that wheelchair users like himself needed to keep their hands free in order to control their wheelchair, but this situation made tasks such as holding a dog leash nearly impossible. Nguyen noticed that the fear of twisted axles and tangled lines prevented many wheelchair users from safely walking their beloved four-legged friends. Nguyen's solution to this common problem comes in the form of two [retractable leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoleash) positioned well above the wheels and axles to prevent any tangling of lines. The leash is connected to a 360 degree adapter that allows for easy control. The sciLeash is also equipped with a quick-release pin to prevent a dog from dragging the wheelchair if it were to topple over. The innovate design of this wheelchair attachment offers a safer and hassle-free solution for walking dogs with ease. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Hands-free Pet Walking:** Opportunity for other hands-free pet walking devices for people with disabilities. - **Wheelchair Accessories:** Opportunity for creating other wheelchair attachments to make daily tasks easier for those who use wheelchairs. - **Pet Accessibility:** Opportunity for creating other pet-related products with accessibility features for people with disabilities. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Products:** Pet industry can create more products for people with disabilities. - **Assistive Devices:** Companies that make assistive devices can create more products for pet owners with disabilities. - **Accessibility Technology:** Accessibility technology companies can expand into the pet industry to create more products for people with disabilities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Senior Pet-Friendly Walking Aids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steady-walking-aid.md) - [Handsfree Canine Cyclist Leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dog-bicycle-leash.md) - [Hands-Free Dog Leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beltdog.md) - [Pet-Carrying Walking Aids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walking-aid-innovaion.md) - [Supportive Senior Pet Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steady-walking-aid-for-dogs.md) - [All-in-One Rotating Dog Leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-360-dog-leash.md) - [Multifunctional Customizable Dog Leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nylon-leash.md) - [Cross-Body Dog Leashes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extra-long-leash.md) - [Parametric 3D-Printed Dog Wheelchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wheelchair-for-dogs.md)
