# Porcelain Whale-Shaped Vases Showcase Your Flowers in the Blowhole of a Whale By Janelle Savel | Published 2014-02-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whale-shaped-vase References: [ckie](http://www.ckie.com/collections/new-designs/products/mobi-whale-vase) & [lushome](http://www.lushome.com/22-unusual-vases-adding-interest-creative-design-ideas-interior-decorating/124035) This darling whale shaped vase adds a touch of modern aquatic style to your home, while showing off your favorite flower. This porcelain vase is comprised of two parts: the head and the tail, and when placed on a flat surface, it mimics the whale's natural tendencies of swimming across the ocean. While the whale looks as if it is treading across your [coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seahorse-coffee-table), the stem in vase looks like it is mimicking water coming out of the blowhole. This is a beautiful piece for any one who wants to pay homage to this beloved mammal of the ocean. For an everlasting effect, add a [fake flower stem](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-preservation) as opposed to a real one, so that it stays upright for longer. This whale shaped vase brings aquatic life to your home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Animal-inspired Decor:** Opportunity for businesses to create more decor items inspired by animals that add a touch of modern style to homes - **Hybrid Home Accessories:** Opportunity for businesses to create more hybrid home accessories that mimic natural tendencies of animals - **Long-lasting Fake Flowers:** Opportunity for businesses to create more long-lasting fake flowers for decorative purposes ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor Industry:** Opportunity for businesses in the home decor industry to expand their product lines to include more animal-inspired decor items - **Artificial Flower Industry:** Opportunity for businesses in the artificial flower industry to create more long-lasting and realistic options for decorative purposes - **Hybrid Home Accessories Industry:** Opportunity for businesses in the hybrid home accessories industry to create innovative and playful items that mimic natural tendencies of animals ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Elegant Ivory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ivory-vase.md) - [Playful Packaging-Inspired Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strawberry-milk-vase.md) - [Dual-Purpose Vintage-Inspired Home Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vintageinspired-home-object.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Creative Dipping Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dip-sea.md) - [Greenery-Inspired Textured Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-textured-ceramic-vase.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Mouth-Blown Glass Hydro Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydro-glass-vase.md) - [Flower-Inspired Bong Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-vase-bong.md)
