Surreal, imaginative and child-like, it is almost as though they are part of a story about the beginning of life or the Earth. Considering how big whales are, it is no wonder that they would be depicted as carrying land and water on their backs. Dubbed Dreams-Ark, the whale sculptures are meant to inspire people to indulge in a little fantasy when viewing them. Full of intricate details, the whale sculptures could easily be mistaken for illustrations at first. Of course, the dimensions are too realistic to be fooled for long. Perhaps they will inspired a storybook. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Surreal Animal Art:** Opportunities exist for artists to create imaginative and child-like sculptures and artwork of animals in surreal and captivating ways that inspire fantasy. - **Fantasy-inspired Sculptures:** Creating sculptures of animals that inspire fantasy can provide creative and artistic outlets for people seeking an escape from reality. - **Detailed Children's Book Illustrations:** Designing intricate and detailed illustrations of animals for children's books can help bring the magic of storybook worlds to life. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Creating imaginative and child-like artwork of animals in surreal and captivating ways can inspire wonder and imagination in adults and children alike. - **Publishing:** Designing intricate and detailed illustrations of animals for children's books can help to create immersive worlds and stories, opening up avenues for new and exciting narratives. - **Tourism:** Installation of surreal animal-inspired sculptures can create visually captivating attractions for tourists and locals alike, driving tourism and supporting the local art community. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Interactive Marine Ecosystem Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marine-ecosystem-sculptures.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Sculptural Mall Dreamscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unbounded-sanctuary.md) - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Climate-Awareness Soft Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamstones.md) - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md)
