# Whale-Shaped Vases The Untitled Flower Jar By Elsa Blaine | Published 2008-06-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whale-of-a-vase-alessandro-bedas-untitled-flower-jar References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Gallery/Untitled-Flower-Jar/95348) Alessandro Bêda, an industrial designer from Portugal, has created this cool, two-piece [flower vase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flower-vase-bong) in the shape of a whale. The flowers, placed in the whale's 'blow hole', are like a colourful burst of water spray. Bêda's vase is still in the concept phase, but he is looking to have it produced and on the market. He has modeled [black and white versions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navazi), but I think there should be a grey whale as well. Currently 'untitled', the piece is fishin' for a name! Any suggestions for him? ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Whale-shaped Vases:** Opportunity for designers and manufacturers to create unique and eye-catching vases inspired by animal shapes. - **Concept-phase Products:** Chance for entrepreneurs to invest in and bring to market innovative products that are still in the development stage. - **Colorful Burst of Water Spray:** Potential for floral and event industries to incorporate visually striking vase designs that create a dynamic and captivating centerpiece. ### Where This Applies - **Design:** Potential for industrial designers to explore the creation of new and imaginative vase designs inspired by animals. - **Manufacturing:** Opportunity for manufacturers to produce and distribute unique vase designs that capture consumer attention. - **Flower and Event:** Opportunity for florists and event planners to create visually stunning and memorable floral arrangements using whale-shaped vases as a centerpiece. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mouth-Blown Glass Hydro Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydro-glass-vase.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Cosmic Glass Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-hole-vase.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Ocean-Inspired Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-coralshaped-vase.md) - [Nature-Inspired Colorful Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anemona.md) - [Sculptural Hand-Blown Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handblown-vase.md) - [Puddle-Imitating Minimal Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puddle-series.md) - [Sculpturally Provocative Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibrant-sculptural-vase.md)
