The piece has a [whale](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marine-ecosystem-sculptures) next to a huge barge carrying buildings and features a whimsical character looking through a telescopic device. Phlegm has also done a lot of other pieces in a similar style that's just as eye-catching as 'Whale of a Time.' Check out the featured gallery to see this interesting work. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Graffiti](https://www.trendhunter.com/graffiti) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Marine-inspired Street Art:** Artists are increasingly using marine-inspired themes in their street art. - **Graffiti Tourism:** Street art installations like Phlegm's 'Whale of a Time' are driving tourism to cities and neighborhoods with vibrant street art scenes. - **Virtual Reality Art Exhibits:** As more street art becomes world-renowned, expect virtual reality exhibits to showcase location-specific works, such as Phlegm's pieces next to the ocean. ### Who This Affects Most - **Tourism:** Cities and neighborhoods with vibrant street art scenes can capitalize on tourism by promoting their areas as a destination for street art enthusiasts. - **Art:** As street art gains popularity and recognition, more traditional art galleries may begin featuring street art installations and incorporating them into their collections. - **Virtual Reality:** With virtual reality technology continuing to advance, expect the art world (including street art) to explore new ways of displaying art through immersive VR experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bubblegum Street Art Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md) - [Graffiti Culture Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1970s-graffiti-today.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Whiskey-Themed Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upfest.md) - [Artful Cartoonish Canal Bridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canal-skybridge.md) - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md) - [Gas Rig Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/striking-art-installation.md)
