# Water Well-Inspired Lighting The Well Lamp by Mejd Studio Winds Up Whimsically By Meghan Young | Published 2015-02-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/well-lamp References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/well-inspired-glass-lighting-mejd-studio/) & [mejdstudio](http://mejdstudio.com/) The Well Lamp is an [interactive design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloomlight-s-lamp) that is inspired by traditional water wells. Although it is made out of [glass rather than stone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa) and is much more delicate and romantic, the Well Lamp does boast the iconic rope from which the light bulb hangs off. Attached to a [wooden handle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp), people can raise and lower the bulb as they please. Designed by Mejd Studio, the Well Lamp is frosted at the bottom, which provides a good reason why some people might like to lower the bulb. When at the bottom, the light is diffused, which is perfect for a softer glow rather than a bright beacon. Available in two colors, white and blue, the Well Lamps are blown at the Czech glass workshop AJETO. They bring a touch of nostalgia into homes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Interactive Lighting:** Incorporate interactivity into lighting designs to provide users with more control and customization options. - **Nostalgic Design:** Create products that evoke nostalgia and emotional connections to attract consumers seeking sentimental experiences. - **Delicate Materials:** Experiment with delicate materials like glass to add a sense of elegance and refinement to product designs. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Introduce interactive lighting solutions in the home decor industry to offer consumers unique and customizable lighting options. - **Artisanal Glasswork:** Leverage the popularity of nostalgic design by incorporating delicate materials like glass in artisanal glasswork creations. - **Interior Design:** Collaborate with interior designers to integrate nostalgic lighting designs that create an atmosphere of warmth and sentimentality in various spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Ethereal Space-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wormhole-table-lamp.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Three-in-One Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bell-lamp.md) - [3D-Printed Aquatic Life Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooj-design-wavy-lamp.md) - [Hat-Like Fabric Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flying-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-lamp.md)
