In an effort to get more elementary school children interested in science, engineering and programming, [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-9) is launching the 'WeDo 2.0' robotics kit at CES 2016.

The WeDo 2.0 robotics kit is an updated version of LEGO's original WeDo kit. The set comes with a number of different LEGO bricks, motion and tilt sensors and a Bluetooth Low Energy-based hub. In addition to the toy itself, the kit also comes with WeGo software, which can be used to [code different applications](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/codee) that control the robot's hub and sensors. In order to make sure children have access to the program, LEGO is offering a custom curriculum that includes more than 40 hours of lessons. The goal is to use the kit as a fun and creative way to help children develop skills that can translate into future careers in STEM fields.

By capitalizing on a toy that is already popular among elementary school children, the WeDo 2.0 robotics kit provides a creative way to get more children interested in science and technology.
