The cake features five different tiers inspired by the iconic pixelated game starring Mario, Wario, Yoshi and Princess Peach. Super Mario is an iconic video game designed for the Super Nintendo game console. The game surrounds a pair of plumber brothers named Mario and Luigi that are off to rescue Princess Peach from the infamous turtle villain Bowser. This cake commemorates Mario and Princess Peach with a cake topper of the pair. The subsequent technicolor layers are decorated after the various Super Mario levels in the game. The cake tiers depict various video game obstacles like hungry venus fly traps, floating levels and Goomba monsters. Each of the cake layers are stacked using green pipe decorations reminiscent of the Super Mario pipes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Gamified Character Cakes:** The trend of creating cakes inspired by video game characters presents an opportunity for bakeries to tap into the growing market of gamers and enthusiasts. - **Super Mario Wedding Cakes:** Designing wedding cakes themed after Super Mario games allows cake decorators to cater to the nostalgic preferences of couples and provide a unique and memorable experience for their special day. - **Pixelated Cake Designs:** The trend of using pixelated designs on cakes opens up opportunities for cake artists to showcase their creativity by merging traditional baking techniques with modern digital aesthetics. ### Who This Affects Most - **Bakery Industry:** Bakeries can leverage the trend of creating gamified character cakes to attract a new customer base and differentiate themselves from competitors. - **Wedding Planning Industry:** Wedding planners can incorporate the Super Mario wedding cake trend into their services, offering couples a unique and personalized touch for their wedding celebrations. - **Cake Decorating Supplies Industry:** Suppliers of cake decorating tools and materials have an opportunity to capitalize on the demand for pixelated cake designs by offering specialized products that cater to this emerging trend. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nostalgic Gaming Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreo-x-super-mario.md) - [Game-Themed Cake Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/among-us-impostor-cake.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-bros-wonder-1.md) - [Video Game Character Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toadstool-cafe.md) - [Video Game Ice Creams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-x-baskinrobbins.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-kart-cookie-cruiser.md) - [Gaming Star Toppers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invincibility-star.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Homewares](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-mario-home-adventure-life.md) - [Wedding Pizza Promotions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pizza-hut-6.md)
