# Arachnophobia Street Art Spanish-Based SpiterTag Creates Web-Like Art for Urban Walls By | Published 2013-07-25 | Updated 2013-07-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weblike-art References: [lostateminor](http://www.lostateminor.com/2013/07/26/spiderman-was-yesterday/) & [spidertag.wordpress](http://spidertag.wordpress.com/) Spanish [street artist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmatic-graffiti) SpiderTag's [web-like art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/olga-de-amaral) is simultaneously creepy and awesome. SpiderTag uses a combination of paint and thread to produce his stunning creations, one of which is a gigantic black spider in the middle of a crumbling, stone wall. The spider looks so realistic, that passersby might think they had accidentally stumbled into some sort of long-legged nightmare. SpiderTag's other creations demonstrate his web-like style more clearly than the spider. One mural shows a [man's silhouette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light), painted in black, struggling to get away from some sort of creature. He's held, however, by a bunch of red thread, snaking along the wall and keeping him from running away. The web-like structure of the thread enhances the spidery feel of the art, making it clear why the artist has given himself the handle, SpiderTag. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Web-like Street Art:** The use of web-like structures in street art is a disruptive innovation opportunity for artists to create visually striking and immersive experiences. - **Realistic Spider Art:** Creating lifelike spider art with a combination of paint and thread presents a disruptive innovation opportunity to bring a sense of creepiness and awe to urban walls. - **Thread-based Murals:** Using thread as a medium for murals offers a disruptive innovation opportunity for artists to create captivating and intricate artwork with a spiderweb-inspired aesthetic. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Street Art:** The street art industry can embrace the web-like structures and lifelike spider art by collaborating with artists like SpiderTag to transform urban spaces with visually stunning and thought-provoking creations. - **Visual Arts:** The visual arts industry can explore the thread-based mural technique to push the boundaries of traditional art mediums and offer unique and immersive experiences to art enthusiasts. - **Urban Design:** Urban designers and architects can incorporate the concept of web-like street art into their projects to add an element of surprise and engagement, making public spaces more interesting and dynamic. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [3D Superhero Block-Puzzle Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amazing-spiderman-set.md) - [Bubblegum Street Art Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubbabubbabuilding.md) - [Nature-Inspired Urban Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kriskadecor-1.md) - [Tree-Integrated Mysterious Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-mural.md) - [Cartoonish City Bollards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/le-cyklop.md) - [Distorted Furniture Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/first-kiss-at-last-light.md) - [Artful Cartoonish Canal Bridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canal-skybridge.md) - [Spooky Street Ad Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fanta-halloween-projection.md) - [Whiskey-Themed Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upfest.md)
