# Plant Root-Watering Systems 'Slo' by David Touzain Ensures Watering Plants is Quick and Effective By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-12-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/watering-plants References: [homecrux](http://www.homecrux.com/2016/12/01/57765/with-slo-we-can-foresee-a-much-greener-environment.html) & [blog-espritdesign](https://blog-espritdesign.com/deco/pot/slo-accessoire-botanique-david-touzain-45169) The 'Slo' by David Touzain is designed to make watering plants a task with a more hands-off approach to keep them thriving without having to focus on daily watering. The 'Slo' works by being seated in a [plant pot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-planter) with the plant growing up through the top. The sections of the 'Slo' are filled with water and slowly allow water to seep out around the roots of the plant. Crafted from ceramic, the 'Slo' gets water directly down to the roots to ensure that plants are always kept well-hydrated even when you aren't home. The 'Slo' eliminates [watering plants on a daily basis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oko-sensor) and instead only requires being filled every so often, which makes it great for busy people. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 39% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Automated Plant Watering:** Automated plant watering systems like 'Slo' by David Touzain offer a hands-off approach to keeping plants well-hydrated, providing opportunities for further development in automated gardening. - **Water Efficiency:** Water-efficient plant watering systems, such as 'Slo' by David Touzain, minimize water waste and provide a pathway for sustainable gardening practices. - **Smart Gardening:** The integration of technology in plant watering systems, exemplified by 'Slo' by David Touzain, allows for smart and optimized plant care through data analysis and control. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Gardening:** 'Slo' by David Touzain highlights the potential for innovation in the home gardening industry, offering convenient and efficient solutions for plant care. - **Smart Home:** The integration of automated plant watering systems, like 'Slo' by David Touzain, into smart home ecosystems opens up opportunities for seamless integration and automation of plant care within the larger smart home industry. - **Sustainable Technology:** Water-efficient and automated plant watering systems, such as 'Slo' by David Touzain, contribute to advancements in sustainable technologies for the broader environmental and agricultural industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Self-Watering Flowerpots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gropot.md) - [Self-Watering Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leafypod.md) - [Automated Plant Irrigation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-irrigation.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Spherical Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-basil-selfwatering-globe.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md)
