The pool party is a summer staple, much like the beach and sunburns. Designer Ting Fend has found a way to enhance pool parties with the Water Power Player. The Water Power Player is a [music player](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/astellkern) that runs on water. The kinetic energy from the pool's waves will be harnessed and used to play the sweet, sweet songs of summer. All I would suggest is making this device [rechargeable](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crankspeaker) either via USB cable or wall outlet just in case the waves stop rockin'. My pool needs this now. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Kinetic Energy Devices:** There is an opportunity to create more devices that can harness kinetic energy from natural sources like water. - **Outdoor Tech:** There is an opportunity to create more technology devices that can be used outdoors and enhance outdoor activities. - **Sustainable Audio:** There is an opportunity to create audio equipment that is powered by renewable energy sources like water, solar, or wind power. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can explore creating more innovative and sustainable audio devices that can be used outdoors. - **Green Energy:** The green energy industry can explore developing more renewable energy sources that can be used to power small devices like outdoor speakers and music players. - **Outdoor Recreation:** The outdoor recreation industry can explore introducing more technology devices that can enhance outdoor activities and provide sustainable audio solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [WiFi-Charged Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/braun-faithfull-speaker.md) - [Sustainable Solar-Powered Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solgaard-solarbank-boombox.md) - [Water-Covered Speaker Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shaped-by-water.md) - [Current-Generating Swimming Pool Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swim-jet.md) - [Pickleball-Friendly Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/speaqua-barnacle-pro-20.md) - [Solar-Powered Pool Sanitizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-pool-ionizer.md) - [Cassette-Inspired Music Players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-audio-player.md) - [Performer-Focused Portable Power Stations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-performer-focused-portable-power-station.md) - [Solar-Powered Pool Monitoring Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-pool-monitoring.md)
