# Water Lily Furniture Home Decor Inspired by Aquatic Plants By Marissa Brassfield | Published 2008-12-07 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/water-lily-erika-lovqvist References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/16909/) & [erikalovqvist.se](http://www.erikalovqvist.se/water-lily_carpet.htm) This clever 'Water-Lily' home collection by Erika Lövqvist evokes the sort of [peaceful calm](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/news-collection) that comes from seeing a pond full of these [aquatic plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4). The ['Water-Lily' lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light) that lead off the gallery, for example, give the feeling of being underwater. I can imagine these lamps setting off a lakeside home beautifully. Conversely, the 'Water-Lily' carpet that is the final image in the gallery fakes the feeling of walking on water. The other two pieces in Erika Lövqvist's 'Water-Lily' collection are the 'Water-Lily' table and the 'Water-Lily' shelves, respectively. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Aquatic Inspired Home Decor:** There is a growing trend in the home decor industry for products inspired by aquatic plants, such as the 'Water-Lily' collection by Erika Lövqvist. - **Underwater Lighting Design:** The use of underwater lighting designs, like the 'Water-Lily' lamps, is an emerging trend that can create a tranquil and immersive atmosphere in homes or hospitality settings. - **Illusionary Carpets:** The use of illusionary carpets, like the 'Water-Lily' carpet, is gaining popularity as a unique way to create the feeling of walking on water in interior spaces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can tap into the trend of aquatic inspired home decor by incorporating elements like the 'Water-Lily' collection to create serene and nature-inspired spaces. - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can explore the potential of underwater lighting designs, like the 'Water-Lily' lamps, to create captivating and transformative lighting experiences for residential or commercial projects. - **Flooring and Carpeting:** The flooring and carpeting industry has an opportunity to innovate by offering illusionary carpets, such as the 'Water-Lily' carpet, that provide a whimsical and unique flooring solution for homes or public spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Aquatic Plant-Inspired Kitchenware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lilypad-cake-stand.md) - [Flower-Inspired Enveloping Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flore.md) - [Nature-Inspired Floral Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-water-lily.md) - [Curvaceous Linoleum Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linoleum-furniture-collection.md) - [Nature-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/riva-collection.md) - [Plant-Friendly Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jcp-universe-coloniae.md) - [Naturalistic Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/back-to-nature-collection.md) - [Oceanic-Themed Playful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-cober.md) - [Floral Architecture Floating Restaurants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nelumbo.md)
