# Elegant Plant-Watering Stones The 'Water From A Stone' Sits in Your Garden to Hydrate Plants By Alexander Lam | Published 2013-08-20 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/water-from-a-stone References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/417946657913572255/Water-From-A-Stone) & [kikkerland](http://www.kikkerland.com/products/water-from-a-stone/) The 'Water From A Stone' is a beautiful glass bubble that waters your plants so you don't have to. Water From A Stone embeds itself in your garden and slowly releases water throughout the day. Each glass container is able to water your plants over the course of 3-4 days. As a result, users can avoid the constant hassle of watering their plants. Designer Casey Scheider created the elegant [garden tool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hydroponics-garden) in order to help gardeners out while keeping their homes stylish. The [glass structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lithic-bloom) makes for a sophisticated accessory for any garden. Water From A Stone works by releasing water through a cork. A cork stopper at the end of the stone slowly lets water out into the surrounding soil. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Automatic Plant Watering Solutions:** Creating innovative automatic plant watering solutions to save time and make gardening easier for individuals. - **Decorative Garden Accessories:** Designing and producing stylish garden accessories that serve a functional purpose. - **Sustainable Gardening Tools:** Developing sustainable gardening tools that help conserve water and reduce environmental impact. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home and Garden Retail:** Home and garden retailers can market and sell this product alongside other garden accessories. - **Eco-friendly Gardening:** The sustainable gardening industry can incorporate this product as part of their offerings. - **Smart Home Automation:** The smart home automation industry can develop intelligent plant watering technology leveraging IoT and machine learning. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Naturalistic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apot-selfwatering-planter.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Spherical Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-basil-selfwatering-globe.md) - [Uniquely Shaped Self-Watering Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/self-watering-plant-house.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Self-Watering Desk Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/posha.md) - [Futuristic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-klaustrafloria.md) - [Self-Watering Compact Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patella-crescenda.md) - [Self-Watering Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leafypod.md)
