# Illuminating Origami The Papercraft Wastberg W101 Lamp is Overarchingly Sleek By Meghan Young | Published 2010-04-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wastberg-w101-lamp References: [thedesignblog.org](http://www.thedesignblog.org/entry/w101-task-light-is-made-entirely-in-paper/) & [wastberg](http://www.wastberg.com/) If you're looking to invest in a funky piece of lighting, I suggest you take a peak at the [Wastberg](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holocene) W101 lamp. Featuring a [origami-like structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti), it is actually [made out of paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akari-lamp). Actually, the Wastberg W101 is specifically constructed using DuraPulp, which is a mix of paper pulp and starch polymer, according to The Design Blog. Using an LED light developed by Claseeon Koivisto Rune that produces a warm rather than hot light, the Wastberg W101 lamp is safe and very energy-efficient. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sustainable Lighting:** Creating energy-efficient lighting solutions with eco-friendly materials like DuraPulp and LED lighting. - **Origami-inspired Home Decor:** Incorporating the modern and sleek look of origami structures into furniture and decor designs. - **Innovative Use of Paper:** Exploring new ways to use paper as a durable and sustainable material for product design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Innovating home lighting and decor with sustainable and eco-friendly materials like DuraPulp. - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating origami forms and shapes into modern furniture design and manufacturing. - **Sustainable Packaging:** Using innovative and eco-friendly materials, such as DuraPulp, for packaging and shipping. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Origami-Inspired Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ori-lamp.md) - [Flat-Pack Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi.md) - [Posh Paper Craft-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/japandi-lamp.md) - [Organic Paper-Like Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farolito.md) - [Paper-Inspired Half-Folded Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/half-lamp.md) - [Blooming Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kazuhiro-yamanaka-tsubomi-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Origami-Inspired Suspended Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sora-pendant-light.md) - [Folded Timber Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flatpack-timber-lamp.md)
