# Chubby Bathroom Basins The Washbowl Gi has a Filled-Out Form Even Without Any Water By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-06-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washbowl-gi References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/washbowl-GI-project-2011/2725857) [Zen style sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volta-collection) are very popular at the moment, and even though the Washbowl Gi doesn't conform to the typical shape, it embodies the same formal theme. Its beautiful rounded shell features a relatively shallow depression in the top, carving out a mass that otherwise resembles a smooth river stone. The elegant exterior of the washbasin casts a glossy finish in a deep black. Its pan has been coated in a bright white and warps organically around the base of the faucet. A [soft swooping tap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botte-mixer) in a dark shade complements the set quite well, embodying the silhouette of a leaf sagging under the weight of rainwater. The Washbowl Gi can be built into a vanity or nestled on top of a matching [sleek cylindrical pedestal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bezel-collection). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Zen Style Sinks:** Opportunity for innovative designs inspired by Zen principles and functionality in bathroom basins. - **Organic Shapes:** Disruptive potential in creating bathroom basins with non-traditional and organic forms. - **Contrasting Finishes:** Innovation opportunity lies in combining glossy and matte finishes for visual impact in bathroom basins. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Potential for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry by creating unique bathroom basins inspired by Zen and organic design principles. - **Furniture and Fixtures:** Opportunity to revolutionize the furniture and fixtures industry by introducing bathroom basins that deviate from conventional shapes and embrace organic forms. - **Interior Design:** Innovative bathroom basins with contrasting finishes can offer opportunities for disruption and creativity in the interior design industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Collaborative Seashell-Like Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spire-washbasin.md) - [Marble Slab Washbasins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin.md) - [Ultra-Modern Freestanding Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freestanding-sink.md) - [Playful Concrete Wash Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kast-wave-collection.md) - [Compact Basin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archiplan-compact-basin-collection.md) - [Artful Artisanal Marble Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handchiseled-marble-basin.md) - [Slick Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slick-bathroom-sink.md) - [Dynamic Marble Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infinito.md)
