Although it looks like a traditional keyboard, it is very far from that. It can be soaked in water, [scrubbed with soap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-enzyme-liquid-dish-soap), and even put in the [dishwasher](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-ultrasonic-dishwasher). Having a washable keyboard with these abilities is the ultimate way to keep your office and computer life sanitary. One of the most difficult things to clean is in fact a keyboard because it is both fragile and conducive to housing germs. I don't even want to begin to think about how filthy the average keyboard is. Luckily, this problem of the past can now be avoided. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 29% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Computers](https://www.trendhunter.com/computers) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Washable Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop more washable technology products, such as washable smartphones or washable headphones. - **Sanitization Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create new solutions for sanitizing commonly used items, like washable remote controls or washable gaming controllers. - **Hygienic Office Supplies:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and manufacture more hygienic office supplies, such as washable mouse pads or washable pens. ### Where This Applies - **Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce washable technology products in the market to meet the growing demand for hygiene-conscious consumers. - **Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with hardware manufacturers to incorporate washable features in a wide range of products, creating a new market segment. - **Healthcare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop washable medical equipment and devices to improve cleanliness in healthcare settings and reduce the risk of cross-contamination. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Silver-Infused Self-Cleaning Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mechanical-antimicrobial-keyboard.md) - [Water-Resistant Gamer Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steelseries-apex-3.md) - [Self-Sanitizing Computer Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zero-mouse.md) - [Dishwasher-Safe Tablet Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otterbox-trustywash.md) - [Colorful Swappable Gaming Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swappable-gaming-keyboard.md) - [Device Cleaning Utilities](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kleanly.md) - [Portable Handheld Dishwasher](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/automated-portable-handheld-dishwasher.md) - [Waterproof Desktop Technology Mats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spillresistant-desk-mat.md) - [Ergonomic Worker-Friendly Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-keys.md)
