# Slouching Ceiling Lights These Warped Lamps Illuminate Rooms with Playful, Casual Elegance By Amelia Roblin | Published 2016-08-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warped-lamp References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/series-001-vincent-pocsik/) & [vincentpocsik](http://www.vincentpocsik.com/) It’s easy for light fixtures to go unnoticed, but these warped lamps––as subtle as they are––have a quirky asymmetry about them that is discernible and guaranteed to delight. Vincent Pocsik has given his Series 001 collection of illuminators the lighthearted appearance of slumping clay. Actually made from [hand-blown glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa), the pieces emit a [soft glow](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightmass) through muted finishes of grey, flesh and opal white. Solid brass hardware enables them to fit in amidst industrial spaces and styles, while exuding a contemporary elegance. The [Pendant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/croissant-pendant-light) Lamp L 001 and the S 001 scones are formed to a couple of different shapes, each with a slanted opening that shades the rays slightly on one side. These warped lamps demonstrate a shift away from the strictly symmetrical lighting of generations past. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Warped Lighting:** Hand-blown, asymmetric lamp designs that offer quirky elegance. - **Casual Illumination:** Lights that emit a soft, muted glow and fit in with industrial style. - **Asymmetrical Shapes:** Shifts away from traditional symmetrical lighting designs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Lighting Design:** Opportunities to explore non-traditional shapes for hand-blown lighting designs. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating casual elegance into industrial spaces. - **Artisanal Craftsmanship:** Demand for handmade, hand-blown glass lamps featuring quirky designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stealthy Pendant Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warp-lamp.md) - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Balloon-Like Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-blown.md) - [Glowing Tubular Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/array-lighting.md) - [Floating Illusion Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lp-lamp.md) - [Artistic Ribbon-Like Ceiling Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-fellas-ceiling-light.md)
