# Secreted Sculleries The Warendorf Hidden Kitchen is Sleek, Modern and Industrial By Meghan Young | Published 2013-02-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/warendorf-hidden-kitchen References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/006611.html) & [warendorf.eu](http://www.warendorf.eu/) The Warendorf Hidden Kitchen is just what it sounds like. It is a cooking area that secrets away when not in use. Like one big modern cupboard, a [folding panel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-shelf) comes down to hide the [sink, counter, stove, storage space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/integrated-kitchen-appliance) and anything else that would normally be put on display in an [open kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3). Especially perfect for open spaces that does not separate the kitchen from the living area, the Warendorf Hidden Kitchen affords a lounge vibe that any contemporary soul will appreciate. Easy to access, the 7-meter panel opens up with the push of a button. As for the appearance of the panel, the Warendorf Hidden Kitchen has been spray-painted with a rust finish, giving it an earthy tone that is at once sleek and industrial. This adds a nice texture to the home. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hidden Kitchens:** The trend of hidden kitchens allows for a sleek and modern aesthetic in open living spaces. - **Concealment Furniture:** The use of folding panels to conceal functional areas like kitchens presents disruptive innovation opportunities in furniture design. - **Lounge Vibes:** The integration of hidden kitchens in open spaces creates a lounge-inspired atmosphere, appealing to contemporary lifestyles. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The hidden kitchen trend presents opportunities for interior designers to create innovative and space-saving solutions. - **Home Renovation:** The use of concealed kitchens opens up possibilities for disruptive innovation in the home renovation industry, allowing for more flexible and versatile living spaces. - **Smart Home Appliances:** The integration of hidden kitchens with smart home technology presents opportunities for the appliance industry to develop innovative and space-efficient kitchen solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monochromatic Handle-Hiding Ovens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hide-oven.md) - [Freestanding Experimental Kitchens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/experimental-kitchens.md) - [Space-Conscious Kitchen Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-kitchen-design.md) - [Elegant Kitchen Sink Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-sink-system.md) - [Compact Kitchen Furniture Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-kitchen-furniture.md) - [Motorized Storage Kitchen Islands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/osta-insel-plus-kitchen-island.md) - [Sleek Integrated Kitchen Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/integrated-kitchen-appliance.md) - [Curvaceous Privacy Wall Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kwk-promes-open-house.md) - [Concealed Kitchen Ventilation Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-ventilation1.md)
