For a change, instead of showing the brutality of war, I’ve chosen a set of images shot by great U.S. [military photographers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pritzker-military-archives-center) in the field. These photos of [sunsets and sunrises](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunset-spark-card-deck) were mostly shot in Iraq and Afghanistan. They offer a more subtle look at the army, thanks to beautiful, natural lighting. These images offer a peaceful visual in the middle of war. This Memorial Day, let’s not forget about the brave and honorable men and women who died serving our country. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Life](https://www.trendhunter.com/life) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Natural Lighting Photography:** Opportunity for photographers to capture stunning images using natural lighting techniques, creating a unique and peaceful aesthetic. - **War Photography:** Exploration into documenting the devastation of war through the lens of military photographers, shedding light on the harsh realities. - **Visual Storytelling:** Emerging trend of using photography to convey narratives and evoke emotions, allowing for a deeper understanding of the military experience. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography:** Potential for advancements in photography techniques and equipment specifically tailored for documenting military operations. - **Media and Journalism:** Disruptive opportunities for journalists and news outlets to explore unique perspectives on war and conflict through captivating imagery. - **Military and Defense:** Incorporation of strategic and artistic photography in military operations to showcase the human side of the armed forces and enhance public perception. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Festive Light Painting Techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-painting-1.md) - [Sky-Based Visual Palettes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stratosplash.md) - [Sunset-Sharing Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sharing-sunset.md) - [Patriotic Doughnuts Lineups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memorial-day-lineup.md) - [Gratitude-Giving Beer Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smooth-salute.md) - [Mental Health-Supporting Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-last-photo.md) - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md) - [Complimentary Meal Military Promotions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fourth-of-july-promotion.md) - [Rapid Photo Visualizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-minute-photos.md)
