[Simpler than wallpaper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-decors) and faster than painting, these pony stencils are a fast, cheap and effective way to customize a bedroom wall. Start by printing off a profile image of a galloping horse. Trace the image onto a translucent sheet of stencil paper. Cut the image out using an X-Acto knife and tape the stencil onto the wall. Using a [colored paint pen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/customdesigned-painting-kit) -- or a thin paint brush -- trace the inside perimeter of the stencil onto the wall. Wait for the paint to dry, remove the stencil and repeat the process. If you aren't into horses, you can easily change the stencil design to an animal you like. Experiment with stencil and wall colors to create something perfect for your taste. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [DIY](https://www.trendhunter.com/diy) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Customized Wall Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a platform that allows customers to easily create and order personalized wall stencils. - **Fast DIY Home Makeovers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of pre-designed stencils and accompanying paints that offer quick and easy home decor transformations. - **Printable Stencil Patterns:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a website or app that offers a wide range of printable stencil patterns for various DIY projects. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate technology such as augmented reality to provide users with a virtual preview of how the stencil design will look on their wall before purchasing. - **Arts and Crafts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a subscription-based service that delivers new stencil designs and painting supplies to customers on a regular basis. - **Online Printing Services:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer customizable stencil design templates and high-quality stencil paper options for customers to easily print and create their own stencils at home. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Horse-Inspired Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-falabella-stool.md) - [Renter-Friendly Wallpaper Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/renter-friendly-wallpaper.md) - [Customizable Kids Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodleface.md) - [DIY Embroidery Ornaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-stitched-ornament-kits.md) - [Virtual Horse Racing Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ride-with-us.md) - [Removable Stained Glass Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stained-window-decals.md) - [Horse-Supporting NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horse-nfts.md) - [Horsehair Fabric Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akar.md) - [Removable Wall Paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unpaint.md)
