The design tool is called 'Printtex.' Printtex is a hand-held wall printer that connects to your phone or computer so you can easily upload a design you want to print onto the wall. The printer focuses on the space you want to print and aligns itself through formatting technology. The space will appear on your phone or computer to show you exactly where the image will be printed, how big it will be and what colors will appear. This innovative tool eliminates the hassle of [wallpaper or primer and paint](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unpaint) by simply printing the design you want just like an [ink-jet printer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eprint). You can customize the machine to print any graphic, image or design concept. The ultimate goal for this fascinating tool is to lend it out to people through a rental service. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hand-held Printing:** The development of portable printing technology is disrupting the traditional stationary printing industry - **Direct-to-wall Printing:** Direct-to-wall printing technology eliminates the need for traditional wallpaper and paint and is posing a threat to the interior design industry - **Customization:** The ability to easily upload any design and print it onto a wall is disrupting the product customization industry ### Sectors Adopting This - **Printing:** The printing industry can benefit from the development of portable printing tools like Printtex to cater to on-the-go printing needs - **Interior Design:** The use of direct-to-wall printing technology poses a threat to the interior design industry as it eliminates the need for traditional paint and wallpaper - **Rental Services:** The rental service industry can benefit from the development of tools like Printtex for people who want to use it occasionally instead of investing in one ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper Waste Reduction Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/handheld-printer-concept.md) - [Industrial Handheld Printer Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scribe-handheld-printer.md) - [Freestyle Desktop Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-printer-device.md) - [At-Home Hobbyist Screen Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/makeblock-xtool-screen-printer.md) - [Artwork-Friendly Smartphone Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm-instax-mini-link-plus.md) - [Palm-Sized Tattoo Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/temporary-tattoo-device.md) - [Automated Worksite Printer Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hp-siteprint.md) - [Texturized 3D UV Printers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eufymake-uv-printer-e1.md) - [Decorative Removable Paints](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glasst.md)
