Rather than simply being a piece of home decor that needs to be installed onto a wall, the 'Area' lamp is intended to be personalized and customized by the user. Designed by Paris-based designer and interior architect Frederick Malphettes, the 'Area' lamp draws inspiration from arboreal aesthetics as per the leafy accoutrements. Capable of being installed horizontally or vertically, the 'Area' wall lamp light can be intermixed with the [geometrical 'leaves'](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light) to be a totally personalized illumination solution. Users can decide what orientation they want the metallic leaves to be set in as well as how large or small they would like the unit to be. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 76% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Customizable Lighting:** Opportunity to disrupt the lighting industry by offering customizable lighting solutions. - **Personalized Home Decor:** Innovation potential in the home decor industry by providing personalized and customizable products. - **Nature-inspired Designs:** Opportunity to disrupt the design industry with nature-inspired product aesthetics. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry. - **Home Decor:** Innovation potential in the home decor industry. - **Design:** Opportunity to disrupt the design industry with innovative product aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Customizable Magnetic Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-magnetic-lamp.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Money Plant-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pilea-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Wall-Mounted Ambient Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-varmblixt-collection.md) - [Plant-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palmetto-lamp.md) - [Timber-Like Smart Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nanoleaf-elements-wood-look-hexagon-lights.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Laser-Cut Customization Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saya-light.md)
